Performing Arts

• Kindergarten

  In Kindergarten, students are introduced to Performing Arts through games and exercises designed to develop cooperation, listening skills, comfort in front of a group, and awareness of their bodies in space. These early experiences encourage imagination and confidence while providing a foundation for future performance opportunities.

• Lower School

  In Lower School, students explore the fundamentals of acting through games, exercises, and improvisation. They develop clarity of speech, voice projection, concentration, physical and vocal expression, imagination, and creativity.
  
  In Fourth Grade, students experience the process of bringing a theatrical production to life. From auditions and rehearsals through performance, students learn to work together as an ensemble and understand the important role each person plays in the success of a production.

• Middle School

  In Middle School, students build upon their previous performance experiences while developing greater confidence, independence, and collaboration.
  
  Students have the opportunity to participate in the Middle School musical and experience the many elements involved in staging a production, from auditions and rehearsals through the final performances. Throughout the process, students develop performance skills while learning the importance of preparation, responsibility, communication, and teamwork.
