Physical Education at Gulf Stream School helps students build a foundation for movement, fitness, teamwork, and healthy habits. As students progress, activities become increasingly challenging, allowing them to develop coordination, confidence, sportsmanship, and problem-solving skills while learning to work cooperatively with others.
Programs are designed to meet students at their developmental stage and prepare them for continued growth in Physical Education and, eventually, participation in Middle School athletics.
Young students develop fundamental motor, movement, and coordination skills through age-appropriate activities that encourage participation, cooperation, and an early appreciation for physical activity.
Students build upon foundational skills through increasingly complex activities and sport-based units while continuing to develop teamwork, sportsmanship, confidence, and healthy habits.
From Physical Education to Stingray Sports
As students progress toward Middle School, the skills developed through Physical Education help prepare them for team practices, competition, and the next stage of the Stingray athletic experience.
