The Julien Arts and Innovation Center serves as the heart of creativity, collaboration, and exploration at Gulf Stream School. Designed as a dynamic learning environment, the center brings together students, teachers, and ideas through hands-on, interdisciplinary experiences that inspire curiosity and innovation.
Learning in the Julien Arts and Innovation Center extends beyond traditional classroom boundaries and beyond a traditional library. Through project-based learning, students engage in authentic challenges that connect concepts across disciplines, encouraging critical thinking, problem-solving, communication, and creativity.
Classes include Technology, Innovation & Literature, Math, Clubs, GSS Scholar programs, special events, Book Clubs, Guest Speakers, and innovation challenges.
Students develop digital literacy and computational thinking through coding, robotics, programming, design thinking, multimedia creation, and emerging technologies. At the same time, reading, writing, and literature exploration remain central components of the program, fostering strong communication skills and a lifelong love of learning.
Students frequently participate in cross-grade activities that promote mentorship, leadership, and community building.
Younger learners benefit from the guidance of older peers, while older students develop confidence and responsibility through meaningful leadership opportunities.
