Pre-Primary Curriculum
A Dynamic Legacy

Gulf Stream School is proud to bring our Pre-Primary legacy to the Delray Beach Campus. Our second campus provides a well-rounded PK1–PK3 curriculum designed to nurture our youngest learners and ensure that the values and high standards that have defined Gulf Stream School for nearly a century continue to benefit new generations. Our PK1–PK3 curriculum at the Delray Beach Campus includes language arts, mathematics, science, art, music, physical education, library, and Spanish.

Through engaging, age-appropriate activities, children begin to build a strong foundation for future learning. In language arts, students are introduced to letters and their sounds, practice recognizing and identifying letters, and develop early communication and vocabulary skills. Hands-on experiences in mathematics and science encourage children to explore, ask questions, make observations, and develop early problem-solving skills. Through play, creativity, movement, and exploration, children build confidence, independence, and a lifelong love of learning.

Our Teaching Environment

Students are encouraged to engage freely with their classmates, teachers, and thoughtfully designed learning environment. Our teachers provide differentiated instruction to support the unique needs, interests, and developmental stages of each child. Through open-ended questions and carefully selected materials, students are encouraged to explore, spark their curiosity, think creatively, and develop early problem-solving skills. Throughout the day, students participate in both small- and large-group experiences, creating meaningful opportunities for collaboration, exploration, and individual growth across all areas of development.

  • Program Overview

We strive to create an engaging and enriching environment to promote growth and development. Each morning, as our little ones arrive, they will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of jobs. This helps our students develop a sense of responsibility and teamwork. Students will have choice time, where they can explore various activities such as block building, dramatic play, art lessons, book exploration, as well as music and movement. This fosters and reinforces creativity and imagination.

Throughout the day, we ensure there is a balance of academic structure. We have dedicated time for circle lessons, small group activities, and one-to-one instruction. During these sessions, we will focus on strategies and activities to help your child master beginning letter formation and number fluency. Our goal is to provide our students with a strong foundation for their future academic success. Of course, we understand the importance of nourishment and outdoor play. Therefore, there will be designated time for snack and lunch, ensuring your child’s energy levels are maintained.

Students will have plenty of outdoor time to explore, play, and have fun. We are committed to creating a positive and inclusive learning environment where your child can thrive. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to us.

We look forward to a wonderful year ahead!
