Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten Arts

Our Arts Programs encourage learning through a variety of mediums, allowing them to explore their individuality.

Building a Solid Arts Foundation

Art plays an important role in our program as we seek to educate the whole child. Our curriculum provides a variety of programs including 2D and 3D art, music, and performing arts, each scaled accordingly for grade levels. While Pre-K and Kindergarten programs are used to provide students with a solid arts foundation, the lower and middle school programs encourage them to enhance and showcase their skills.

Pre-Kindergarten Arts

Pre-kindergarten students are introduced to basic concepts of pitch and rhythm, and they develop habits of active listening. They do movement exercises and games to music and practice singing. Art includes drawing, painting, and working with clay and Play Dough.

Kindergarten Arts

In Kindergarten students further develop their understanding of pitch and rhythm; they add to their repertoire of songs; and they are introduced to musical notation. Art includes drawing, painting, collage, ceramics, and printing. For performing arts, Kindergarteners play games and to develop their cooperative skills as well as their comfort in front of a group, their listening skills, and their awareness of their own bodies in space.

We teach our students a love of learning that will carry them into the future.
