About Us » Organization

Gulf Stream School has an enrollment of 250 students, 50+ teachers and staff, a library, a computer center, a gymnasium, an auditorium, two art studios, two science laboratories, a music studio, and eighteen classrooms. The overall Gulf Stream student-to-teacher ratio is 6:1 and we strive to have no more than eighteen students per classroom.

Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten Classes

In Pre-kindergarten there are two classrooms combined with three-and four-year-olds. Each classroom has two teachers and there is a teaching assistant who travels between the classrooms. In Kindergarten, there are two classrooms with one teacher and one teaching assistant in each.

Lower School Classes

The Lower School consists of Grades One through Four. There are two sections of each grade. In Grade One there is one teacher and an assistant in each classroom when core subjects are being taught. Children in Grades Two through Four remain with their homeroom teachers for reading, English, writing, mathematics and social studies and travel to other classrooms and teachers for science, computer, Spanish, physical education, art, music, drama, and library. The Lower School academic day ends at 2:20 p.m..
