All eighth grade students participated in the
USA Today Sportsmanship Essay Contest to help celebrate the 18
th annual
Institute for International Sport’s National Sportsmanship Day on Tuesday,
March 2
nd. Open to students in elementary school through the
collegiate level, students were asked to write about any aspect of ethics and
sportsmanship in society. Olivia Gaudree’s essay was chosen among hundreds to
represent the middle school division. Olivia’s name will be listed among the
winners in the newspaper on Tuesday, March 2
nd and her picture along
with her winning essay will be posted on-line at
